EXHIBITIONS

Exhibitions for 2021:

I had my first exhibition of the year in January at home, which led me to produce the video Home Art Gallery about painting in acrylic around the theme of black and white landscapes, given the restrictions of the pandemic regarding cultural events.

My first exhibition:  Foyer Saint Justin, when I did the Erasmus Program in the ’90 at the Université de Fribourg, in  Switzerland, oil painting on the canvas and pen on paper.

Much later at Linden Gallery, Melbourne 2003, Australia, a joint exhibition of sketches of charcoal and pastel of life drawing models.

In 2010, open house exhibition with drawings made of pencil and charcoal and gouache paintings, under the theme illustrating Thailand and the world of cinema

2018 was a turning point for me in terms of exhibitions, as follows:

In January I had a joint exhibition of painting with mixed technique together with poetry and ceramics at an improvised gallery, sponsored by the Junta de Freguesia do Areeiro.

On 8th March in order to celebrate international women’s day, it was inaugurated a joint exhibition, where I had analog photographs in black and white of multicultural women of Thailand (Chiang Mai) at  Fábrica do Braço de Prata, called Exposição Coletiva 8. This exhibition was prolonged until the 2nd of May, given its success.

From the 2nd to the 16th of June 2018, I did a solo exhibition of painting with an original mixed technique made of oil and collage of embroidery and materials, called My Family in the Feminine and simultaneously another of ceramics called Shadows of the past. It took place at the cultural association Pessoa e Companhia.

Simbiotic Analysis: the river Tejo, its margins, and those who are within them. Exhibition of analog photograph in black and white and also digital, at Pessoa e Companhia, from the 14th of July to the 15th of August.

The Kingdom of Sion and the Western world, an encounter with 500 years old, at the Corochéus Public Library exhibition hall, sponsored by the Municipality of Lisbon, from the 1st of August to the 7th of September. This exhibition was then taken to Pessoa e Companhia from the 13th of October to the 13th of November.

Workshop My Life has Stories, August. This ended up on an artwork exhibition called Arte Viral at the art secondary school António Arroio, in October. I was represented by collage and poems in kline about my son’s childhood and mine.

In 2019, I had the following exhibitions:

Artistic Residence with the artist Sofia Freire d’ Andrade, inaugurated with the exhibition Roots and Reflexes. Since the 3rd of June, I exhibited in Pessoa e Companhia illustrations about climate change and the protection of the environment and the role of women within it, using the software Illustrator and Indesign. The last solo exhibition of the residency was under the theme Acrylic Landscapes and it took place until the 1st of August.

The joint exhibition called Aurora with the painter Pedro Guerra and my photographic registers, forming my Pré Curso,  unveiling the city of Lisbon lato sensu, from 29th May to 6th June at Espaço Santa Catarina.

Joint exhibition of the Atelier Criativo of Junta do Alto do PIna, at the Gallery Beltrão Coelho, from the 27th of June.

From the 3rd of September to the 21st of September, solo exhibition at the main Gallery of the emblematic bookshop Ler Devagar at Lx Factory, of photography and painting called Organic Mind/Orgânica mente (acrylic on canvas and yupo paper with Indian Ink).

The last joint exhibition of the year occurred at the Bar- Restaurant, Bê Dois, Santos o Velho, with the French artists Jacqueline Guedj, Florence Fauchoix and Josiane Canitrot, called Combo. We showed origami, ceramics and mixed technique.

In the pandemic year of 2020, I had the following exhibitions:

Andamento Adagio Acrílico, at the Art Gallery Verso Branco, Rua da Boavista. It happened from the 11th of January to the 18th of February, and it was afterward prolonged up to the 13th of March given the success of the exhibition. The end of this exhibition coincided with the declaration of the state of emergency because of the new pandemic of Covid 19, All pieces were painted in acrylic and were conceived on purpose to awake the public conscience about climate change.

Artistic Residence, at Largo das Residências, largo do Intendente, sponsored by Gulbenkian Foundation and the Municipality of Lisbon, from January until July. The themes explored were photography and poetry, which I had the opportunity to exhibit on four open Residencies, three of which online given the pandemia. My work focused on photography about the New Chinese New Year and was subsequently edited with a poem about Lisbon European Green Capital, translated from Portuguese to English and then Mandarin. My idea was to take the poem to the students of a multiethnic school, many of which are of Chinese descent, and ask them to illustrate taking into account key words of the poem pictographic imagined by them for each Chinese character, in this way a new imagined pictographic language created by children would emerge.

I started to attend the painting course of SNBA and produced diverse works.

At Casa do Alentejo, from the 10th to the 30th of July, I opened up the exhibition hall with one with digital black and white photography about the Cais Palafítico.

From September to October, I had again an exhibition about Thailand with analog photography, through the invitation of the Municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, at Associação Cultural do Bom Sucesso in Sacavém.

Finally, in December I participated at Largo das Residências on a Christmas Art fair, open to diverse artists.
